We've carried a couple of Erin's albums since 2000s 'Distillation' (which is still her best studio disc), but as an artist who plays around 200 North American shows a year her concerts are the highlight.
Her growth over the course of her studio albums and EPs has been interesting and atypical for US singer/songwriters. A smart writer with a quirky voice, she started out as a contemporary folk singer with a good ear for melody, but over the years more and more jazz elements have been brought to the fore, so much so that she’s probably now best described as a crossover act, the set is almost exclusively her own material (there's one cover) but it's heavily influenced by jazz....it's this that makes her stand out from many other US singer/songwriters.
Her voice has the playful elements required for this style, and her band is full of top-flight musicians, and it’s in the live setting where things really click and it all makes sense…she has a genuine presence and the feeling of fun comes across in this live recording.
