Fish Records Mailer Issue 29 (Apr/May 2004) There are some obvious standout albums this month with significant releases from established artists such as Slaid Cleaves, Eliza Gilkyson and Sarah Harmer, but the real surprises come in the form of 3 superb albums from little known artists Jenny Queen, Mindy Smith and Angie Palmer. These 6 new releases represent a truly excellent bunch of albums, and any one of them could have been chosen as the lead disc – in the end the Jenny Queen disc was picked as it’s an understated gem. |
